CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the
auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO ICM) is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre which is established
through a signed agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and
UNESCO.
The 2025 ICM MODEL UNESCO CONFERENCE (2025 ICM MUNESCO) which wil be
held from the 25th to the 29th of August aims to find creative solutions for the
chal enges humanity faced by enabling young people to instil their creative ideas and to
build their capacity through diverse academic and cultural activities.
ICM looks forward to having active participation of those who are highly interested in
the activities of UNESCO and social transforming impact of sport.

2025 ICM MUNESCO OVERVIEW
Topic: Impact of sport in promoting diversity and supporting marginalized
communities
Dates: 25 August ~ 29 August 2025
Main location: ICM Headquarters, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea
Participants: 50 ~ 60 graduate and undergraduate students (excluding the members
of secretariat)

Eligibility
Undergraduate and graduate students (including exchange students, students enrol ed
in language school/institute, and those taking a leave of absence) or youth aged
between 19 and 34
Ones residing in the Republic of Korea or wil ing to travel to Korea at their own
expenses
Open to al nationalities
Function(s)
Pre-conference
Each member of the secretariat will lead activities assigned according to his or her
preferred topic group which will be surveyed during the interview.
During the conference
The secretariat will be divided into two functions
1. chairing the conference
2. operating the venue.
There could be additional roles requested during the conference.
Besides the above, the members of the secretariat will work with the organiser for
the conference preparation once they get selected.
Benefits: Free participation (including meals and accommodation) and KRW 100,000
daily al owance during the conference (total KRW 500,000 from 25 to 29 August),
souvenir package, participation certificate
Required documents: will be requested individually if necessary
Participant requirements
Must have advanced English skil s
Must be committed to the 2025 MUNESCO and attend the whole programme
(including preparatory team activities, orientation session, and the conference)
Capable enough to lead the delegates for their team activities based on Fit for Life key
areas of intervention
Preferred candidate(s)
Those who have experience in similar events
Those who have deeper understanding of UNESCO and its Fit for Life initiative, sport
for development and peace, physical education, sport policy, and SDGs
Those who are academical y excel ent and have advanced writing skil s
Those who could add more sense of diversity to the programme
