2021-2022 Kazakhstan Government Scholarship Program 

 

 

 
1. Available Programs 
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral  

* applicants can apply to national and state universities in Kazakhstan, except for medical and military 

universities. 
 

2. Eligibility 
- Korean citizenship holder 
- For Undergraduate program applicant: the average grade of the certificate or certificate of basic 
secondary education with a grade of at least "B". 
- For Master’s and Doctoral program applicant: a bachelor's or specialist's diploma is taken into 
account with an average score of at least 3.3 (out of 4.0) GPA or its equivalent obtained from an 
educational institution. 
 

3. Benefits 
- Free training. 
- Monthly scholarship (while studying for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees) 

* The total amount of funds allocated for training under the Bachelor's program in national universities for 

1  student  is  920  300  tenge/year.  The  size  of  the  monthly  scholarship  is  26  186  tenge,  for  students  in 
pedagogical areas of study in educational institutions - 42 000 tenge.  

* The total amount of funds allocated for study under the Master's program in national universities for  

1 student is 646 300 tenge/year. The size of the monthly scholarship for undergraduates is 66,913 tenge.  

* The total amount of funds allocated for study under the Doctoral program in national universities for  

1  student  is  1,900,000  tenge/year.  The  size  of  the  monthly  scholarship  for  doctoral  students  is  150,000 
tenge. 

-  The  costs  associated  with  study,  in  particular  at  the  preparatory  department  (unit)  for  the 
purpose of learning the Kazakh/Russian language (not in all universities). 
- Accommodation in a dormitory with payment provided for citizens of Kazakhstan. 
- Medical care in accordance with the current legislation of Kazakhstan. 
-  Expenses  covered  by  the  scholars'  own  funds:  medical  insurance, including outpatient  and 
inpatient  medical  care,  transportation  costs  to  and  from  the  place  of  study,  recognition  of 
educational documents on the basis of which admission is carried out. 
 

4. Required Documents 

* A package of documents should be submitted with translation into Russian or English. 

- Applicants must provide the following package of documents: 

1) application of the applicant for study in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan  (the 

form is attached); 

2) a copy of the passport; 
3) a notarized copy of the document on the previous level  of education  (with a transcript, if 

any);

4)  a  medical  certificate  for  a  person  leaving  for  study  abroad,  issued  by  the  official  health 

authority of the candidate's country of residence, that is, a medical certificate issued by a doctor 
or  a  licensed  doctor  "Personal  medical  examination",  as  well  as  undergoing  a  medical 
examination and providing a certificate of health; 

5) police clearance certificate 

 

5. Submission

* we note that applicants must bring paper versions of the documents with them upon arrival at declared 

university. 

 

6. Submission Deadline:  20  June, 2021 

* It should be noted that the chosen specialties after the official direction cannot be changed. 

 

7. Remarks 
-  Please  note  that  incomplete  dossiers  of  candidates,  as  well  as  proposals  that  were  sent  to  the 
Ministry  in  violation  of  the  established  terms  and  conditions,  will  not  be  accepted  for 
consideration.
